Garment Sewing Club

This garment sewing club meets to learn, share, and get inspired. Each session begins with a focused demonstration or featured skill, designed to help members build confidence and try new techniques. After the demo, there is a group question-and-answer time where everyone can troubleshoot projects and discuss ideas together. The meeting wraps up with a show-and-tell, giving members a chance to share their latest makes and celebrate each other’s creativity.
| Instructor: | Carol Brubaker |
| Instructor Bio: | Carol has been sewing since she was seven years old, when she finally wore her mom down enough to be trusted with the “good” sewing machine and a pile of fabric scraps to make Cabbage Patch Kid clothes. She has been stitching ever since, steadily leveling up her skills and her love of all things thread and fabric. Sergers are permanent residents in her sewing room, and she especially enjoys working with knits to create comfortable, everyday clothes people actually want to wear. With a degree in Apparel Technology from Purdue University, she brings plenty of technical spark to match her creativity. She has been married to Ryan for over thirty years, and together they are raising nine amazing children, proving that “busy” is just another creative challenge. In August 2025, Ryan and Carol became the proud owners of Select Sewing, a beloved Indianapolis staple since 1953, and are excited to carry its legacy forward in the community. |
